The remake of Silent Hill 2 was released for the Playstation 5 and PC in 2024. For which composer Akira
Yamaoka re-recorded and expanded his original score. It is track no. 1 on disc 1 of the accompanying 3
part Silent Hill 2 Original Soundtrack - 2024 -.
 
For the original game, Theme Of Laura served as the pre-rendered opening cinematic, as well as the music for
various pre-release trailers. That version is also among my tabs! This remake does not future such an opener,
but the related track Theme Of Laura (Laura's Emotions) serves as the end credits music this time around.
While Theme Of Laura II also was used for it's respective trailers, it remains a soundtrack exclusive and
is not heard in-game.
 
Akira decided to bring the long lost guitar solo from the 2000/2001 trailers back for this, bumping up the
total track length. It still plays through 6 different segments with the various electric guitars taking the
lead. Unlike in the original, there is no violin here. It's parts are partially replaced by a synthesizer
or similar instrument playing slightly different lines to before, others were removed. Because of my previous
tabbing of them, I decided to include these modifications here. The mandolin returns in a less prominent role
and most likely once again as a sample, rather than as a recorded instrument.
