The remake of Silent Hill 2 was released for the Playstation 5 and PC in 2024. For which composer
Akira  Yamaoka re-recorded and expanded his original score. It is track no. 93 on disc 3 of the
accompanying 3 part Silent Hill 2 Original Soundtrack - 2024 -.
 
This remake does not feature a pre-rendered opening cinematic like the original game which this version or
the related track Theme Of Laura II could have played in. But this was instead used for the end credits
music. Meanwhile Theme Of Laura II remains a soundtrack exclusive that was in trailers, but wasn't in-game.
 
I am fairly certain that the lead voice opening this rendition is a violin sample. As the main theme of the
2001 game, the original had also featured violin lines, though completely different ones and this time even
at times playing in octaves. Said original Theme Of Laura is also among my tabs. The mandolin most likely
is a sample yet again and not a recorded instrument. I decided to include these melody lines here again
since both the mandolin and the violin are tuned to the same pitch in the same intervals.
