so you're saying I need another guitar. I sort of loathe tuning up/down/sideways during a performance. So what I'm hearing is I need another guitar. well done.

thinking about tuning a step down made the whole song suddenly make sense

Good call on the step down tuning. Using drop D for the solo /bridge part seemed wierd to me.
