guitar solo, very fuzzed out
to play this solo completely correct, you're going to have to tranpose up
an octave, and then slap some of that Octaver on there, but I thought it
would just be easier if I transcribed it in the lower octave... go buy that
effect, or an Octave Fuzz....

D|--2--2-2--2-2-2---2-2---|
A|--5--5-3--3-3-3p2-2-2---|
D|------------------------|

then play this progression back into the main fuzzed riff from before:
  (pm = palm mute)
                     pm pm
e|--------------------------------0--|
B|--3-3---3-3----3-----3----3-----3--|

Says it's in standard, but it's in Drop D, because it's tabbed like it's in Drop D.

Can anyone help me identify what stomp box Billy uses when they go into the verse "Faith ... lies in ...". The chorus-y, phase shifty, jangly clean sound. How did they get that? I need to know! Is it just a clean Twin Reverb with miking techniques!? I missed the Butch Vig AMA ! (Didn't even know one came and past until today. Figure I'd give this comment a shot..) If anyone is a super fan and/or familiar with what is going on in the verse, I would greatly appreciate it if you let us know! Thank you so much! It sounds almost like .. it may be just a CE-2? BUt there's a vibe or something there ... OK! You understand my obsession with aiming for this sound. Even if just for a cover or something. If attainable for me or not, I would love to know how they got this sound. Again, the cleanish, wet with a chorus-y, vibe-y, phase-y, sound at "Faith, lies in the ways ..."

what is that chord at the end of the main riff? It's hard to hit.
