This is a great song by one of the best (and most underated) bands ever. And no,
that isn't an opinion that' free to be debated. It's a fact;).
      Anyway, here's the song:

Verse 1:
 E B E A
"howdy, lem," my grandpa said with his eyes closed
E B E A
wiping the eastbound dust from his sunburned brow
A
a life before doubt.

Chorus:
G A G A
i smell the engine grease and mint the wind is blending
G A D F# G A
under the moan of rotting elm in the silo floor

Verse 2:
E B E A
down a hill of pine tree quills we made our way
E B E A
to the bottom and the ferns where thick moss grows
A
beside a stream.

Chorus:
G A G A
under the rocks are snails and we can fill our pockets
G A D F# G A
and let them go one by one all day in a brand new place

Interlude
E B E A X8 (same pattern as vese just it is played 8 times, not four)

Chorus:
G A G A
You were no ordinary drain on her defenses
G A D F# G
and she was no ordinary girl Oh, Inverted World

i think these chords are right but if you have corrections please add a comment
(i'll check back every so often) or PM me. Also if you have any other requests

Between the E and the A in the verses I reckon there's a switch to D, so play E and D quickly before going to A.

At the end it's E and G over and over again. The E comes in on the "so". And for the chord between the E and A in the verse, I tend to play a quick 02020x and it sounds great!
