[Verse 1]
C G Fsus2
Well, a person can work up, a mean mean thirst
C G Fsus2
After a hard day of nothin' much at all
C G Fsus2
Summer's passed, it's too late to cut the grass
C G
There ain't much to rake anyway
Fsus2
in the fall
C G Fsus2
And sometimes I-I just ain't in the mood
C G
To take my place in back
Fsus2
with the loudmouths
C G
You're like a picture on the fridge
Fsus2
that's never stocked with food
C
I used to live at home,
G Fsus2
now I stay at the house
[Pre-chorus 1]
G Fsus2
And everybody wants to be special here
G G7
They call your name out loud and clear
[Chorus]
C G Fsus2
Here comes a regular
C G Fsus2
Call out your name
C G Fsus2
Here comes a regular
G F
Am I the only one here today?
[Verse 2]
C G
Well a drinkin' buddy has bound
Fsus2
to another town
C G Fsus2
And once the po-lice made you go away
C G
And even if you're in the arms
Fsus2
of someone's baby now
C
I'll take a great big whiskey
G Fsus2
to ya anyway
[Pre-chorus 2]
G Fsus2
Everybody wants to be someone's here
G G7
Someone's gonna show up, never fear
[Chorus]
C G Fsus2
'Cause here comes a regular
C G Fsus2
Call out your name
C G Fsus2
Yes now here comes a regular
G F
Am I the only one who feels ashamed?
[Solo]
C G Fsus2 x2
[Verse 3]
C G Fsus2
Kneeling alongside old Sa-ad Eyes
C G
He says opportunity knocks once
Fsus2
then the door slams shut
C G
All I know is I'm sick of everything
Fsus2
that my money can buy
C G
A fool who wastes his life,
Fsus2
God rest his guts
C G
First the lights, then the collar
Fsus2
goes up, and the wind begins to blow
C G
Turn your back on a pay-you-back,
Fsus2
last call
C G
First the glass, then the leaves that
Fsus2
last, then comes the snow
C G Fsus2
Ain't much to rake anyway in the fall
[Solo]

Yeah man, this is the way Westerberg plays it, though I think he plays the chorus the same way as the verse. He's just changing the pitch of his voice. Great tab for a great song.
+1

capo 5th fret not 6th then you can play along with the studio recording,

Yup, I do agree that Paul plays it like this. Awesome...thanks for the tab.
