At first I hate it when your music and the printed stuff in 'real' books (sometimes even "Real Book"s) don't match. Then I remember I have ears and I have to train them somehow, and having two versions to at least start with helps me figure out which is 'right' (on a particular night, on a particular stage, or at the end of a particular studio mix after dozens of takes got mixed together...)

That's show-biz mate. After a while you can listen a moment and then pick out every chord and note in a song. KK. P.S. I run across this all the time..somebody has picked up a song from from a music book and they think it's 'Gospel'. That particular song may have several arrangements and different keys. When you realize this, you are learning. Cheers. KK.

At first I hate it when your chords don't match the published 'real' versions (Sometimes even from Real Books) I have, then I remember I have ears and need to train them to listen and hear these things. Having a couple of versions at least gives me a good starting place to figure out which is correct - for a song played by a particular band, on a particular night, on a particular stage, or after a particular studio mix involving dozens of takes...
