Tuning:Down one Half a step (Eb Ab Db Gb Bb eb)
CAPO ON THE FIFTH FRET

Merric uses a lot of alternate and open tunings on this album that are hard to figure
by ear, so I am
sure this is not 100% accurate but there are no tabs out for this song so I figure I'd
my 2 cents out there.

In the music video he is using a capo on the 6th fret but in my version it's on the
fret,
so it's not exactly what he plays but it sounds fine.

ALL CHORDS AND RIFFS ARE WRITTEN RELATIVE TO THE CAPO ON 5

opening chord (can't really write the exact rhythm, pretty easy to figure out if you
to the record)
eb|-2--------------------------------------------------------------------------|
Bb|-x--------------------------------------------------------------------------|
Gb|-1--------------------------------------------------------------------------|
Db|-2--------------------------------------------------------------------------|
Ab|-2--------------------------------------------------------------------------|
Eb|-0--------------------------------------------------------------------------|

Singing starts
"our fathers have been...
eb|-2--------------------------------------------------------------------------|
Bb|-x--------------------------------------------------------------------------|
Gb|-1--------------------------------------------------------------------------|
Db|-2--------------------------------------------------------------------------|
Ab|-2--------------------------------------------------------------------------|
Eb|-0--------------------------------------------------------------------------|

"He's Been
eb|----------------------------------------------------------------------------|
Bb|----------------------------------------------------------------------------|
Gb|-2--------------------------------------------------------------------------|
Db|-2--------------------------------------------------------------------------|
Ab|-0--------------------------------------------------------------------------|
Eb|----------------------------------------------------------------------------|

"Squandering..."
eb|----------------------------------------------------------------------------|
Bb|-2--------------------------------------------------------------------------|
Gb|-1--------------------------------------------------------------------------|
Db|-2--------------------------------------------------------------------------|
Ab|-0--------------------------------------------------------------------------|
Eb|----------------------------------------------------------------------------|

Repeat that rhythm with the chord changes for the verse

Chorus "Fools...Fools..."

It sounds cool fingerpicked but if you are using a pick for the chords above it will
still sound fine if you don't hit the bottom string.
eb|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
Bb|---0------0------0---------------------------------------------------------|
Gb|-----1------1------1-1h2-1h2-----------------------------------------------|
Db|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|

4th. And yes, if you're using a capo, there's no need to tune down if staying in relatively standard tuning.

It sounds good, but it's nothing like what they perform live... my search for the perfect Fools tab continues.

sounds pretty good. i've been looking around for dodos tabs but couldn't find any. probably cause they're somewhat obscure of a band and i've heard the tunings for his songs are not of standard and a bit confusing. not to mention all the finger picking stuff he does. thanks for the tab!
