Nice job, on the chorus I like to bounce back and forth between an A and an A6 for some movement but that's personal preference.

I had a bit of issue with this song for the fingering. Try capoing and playing it where it is D D6 Dmaj7 D. Also, I think the song holds the same pattern through the whole song with exception to the pre chorus and chorus. That pattern is D D6 Dmaj7 D Gmaj7 G6. Getting out of that pattern seems to take it out of the groove.
