I guess it is a little different. Maybe the info I read was on 'Mailman' because that one was not in CGCGGE. I don't think it makes a big deal since most of the song was on the lower strings.

No, its not true. I read about this song in a Guitar magazine around 15 yrs ago and they said that Kim wrote it in CGCGBE, and it makes some of the bends and other leads easier to play than an open tuning
