[Verse 1]
G Dadd4 G/B Cadd9 G/D
She grew up with the children of the stars,
G Dadd4 G/B Cadd9 G/D
In the Hollywood hills and the boulevards,
G Dadd4 G/B Cadd9 G/D
Her parents threw big parties, everyone was there,
G Dadd4
They hung out with folks like Dennis Hopper,
G/B Cadd9
And Bob Seeger, and Sonny and Cher!

[Verse 2]
G Dadd4 G/B Cadd9 G/D
She feels safe now in this bar on Fairfax,
G Dadd4 G/B
And, from the stage, I can tell that she can't let go,
Cadd9 G/D
And she can't relax,
G Dadd4 G/B Cadd9 G/D
And just be - fore she hangs her head to cry,
G Dadd4 G/B Cadd9
I sing to her ...a lulla - by!
[Chorus]
D G Dsus4 Cadd9
I sing ...every - thing's gonna be alright,
G D Cadd9
Rock - a - bye, rock -a - bye,
D G Dsus4 Cadd9
Every - thing's gonna be alright,
A7 A7sus4 Cadd9
Rock - a - bye, rock - a - bye,
Cadd9 G Dadd4 G/B Cadd9 G/D
Rock - a - bye!
[Verse 3]
G Dadd4 G/B Cadd9 G/D
She still lives with her mom out - side the city,
G Dadd4 G/B Cadd9 G/D
Down that street about a half a mile,
G Dadd4 G/B Cadd9 G/D
And all her friends tell her ...she's so pretty,
G Dadd4
But she'd be a whole lot prettier...
G/B Cadd9 G/D
...If she smiled once in a while,
G Dadd4 G/B Cadd9 G/D
'Cause even her smile looks like a frown,
G Dadd4 G/B Cadd9
And she's seen her share of devils in this angel town
[Chorus]
D G Dsus4 Cadd9
Every - thing's gonna be alright,
G D Cadd9
Rock - a - bye, rock -a - bye,
D G Dsus4 Cadd9
Every - thing's gonna be alright,

[Verse 4]
G Dadd4 G/B Cadd9 G/D
I told her I ain't so sure about this place,
G Dadd4
It's hard to play a gig in this town,
G/B Cadd9 G/D
And keep a straight face,
G Dadd4 G/B Cadd9 G/D
And it seems like everybody’s got a plan,
G Dadd4 G/B Cadd9
It's kind of like Nashville with a tan
[Chorus]
D G Dsus4 Cadd9
But, every - thing's gonna be alright,
G D Cadd9
Rock - a - bye, rock -a - bye!

Every - thing's gonna be alright,

Great version, it sounds close enough, thanks for posting. I saw Shawn last night, and he said he came up with some weird tuning. he didn't say what it was, but he was trying to get his guitar to sound like a dulcimer.

Almost forgot this song ever existed; Scrolling through your tab/play list, clicked on it and was grateful again for your contributions to UG. I honestly must say that playing your tabs/chord renditions of your songs have made me a better guitar player. With all the sus-this / add#-that chord variations you include in your versions, create some nuanced sounds/supplemental tones. Also, have learned lots of new variations of chords, and feel quite comfortable improvising finger-picking "spice" to/through chords. Your work and what must be an incredible amount of time is very much appreciated. Thx
