The Am-Bm-C progression sounds good, but I think it's more likely he is simply hitting the B note (2nd fret) on the A string by moving his middle finger up one string. And possibly removing his third finger.

I agree that he's likely to be walking from Am to C via that x-2-0-0-1-0 chord I can never remember the name of.
I also play Gadd4 (3-2-0-0-1-3) instead of the Gsus4 here, because then you can hammer on and pull off the first finger between that chord and G, like he seems to do on the recording.
