____Intro:

 A

____Verse: 1

   A E A
I sat there alone upon the ferris wheel
   A D
a pastel colored carriage in the air
   Bm F#7 Bm
I thought you'd leave me dangling for a little while
   Bm Bm7 E
a silly twist upon a childish dare

____Verse: 2

   A E A
Below I saw you whispering to another man
     A D
who held the lever that could bring me down
      Bm F#7 Bm
he'd stop the world from turning at your command
      Bm Bm7 E
it's always something cruel that laughter drowns

____Chorus:

     E A
and I'm up while the dawn is breaking
 A7 D
even though my heart is aching
                        D#dim7
I should be drinking a toast
           E
 to absent friends
            Fdim7 A E
 instead of these comedians

       A E A
I can hardly hear the music from the carousel

the wind picks up, the carriage starts sway
    F#m C# F#m
as one by one the lights go out it's closing time

They say that you will always be the last to know

they say that all that glitters is not gold
      F#m C# F#m
it's not just that you're never coming back to me

it's the bitter way that I was told

Great! I'd rather play it without capo in C, though.

Hi Maguri, it's been a while & hope you're well. Thanks guys for the positive rating, I do appreciate it as well as the comments but the capo for me, offers an alternate way of playing something slightly different from the musicians I hook up with regularly, with 3 or 4 of us playing, one of us may as well be slap on a capo just to keep things interesting. You'll see that most if not all my tabs are with capo. Keep in mind also that often w/ the capo, I'm now for the first time, able to hit/reach bass notes over a chord that before was not so accessible. You'll see exactly what I mean when you slap the capo on the 1st. fret for ex: "Let 'Em In" by McCartney, which in the book and on record is printed & recorded in "Bbmaj7". Ooh! I hate Bb's, not really. With the capo, you find: 1. How much more pretty the sound is 2. How much more accessible it is, the constant pounding of the "A" bass note over nearly every chord in that song which leads to: 3. How much easier on the fingers and therefore, more fun, enjoyable and natural to the touch playing it with a capo, beside, I don't like flat chord too much. Oh! Another one: "Must Do Something About It" by Wings "Wings At The Speed of Sound", another one of my favorites which again, makes all the difference in the world playing with the capo on the 1st. fret. In the book & on record is in Eb. Ooh! I hate Eb's, not really. Hey! You guys have had trouble logging in? I couldn't for the past couple of months. Kept locking on me and I'm sick of all these web site hooking up with Facebook & Twitter to log in. Always keep rocking and a safe summer to you all. The best, Ronnie
