Bless The Broken Road
 by Rascal Flatts
  "Feels Like Today" Album (2004)

[Intro]

C G Am F G C (x2)

[Verse 1]

C G Am F G C
I set out on a narrow way many years ago
C G Am F G C
Hoping I would find true love along the broken road
    Am G
But I got lost a time or two
    F C
Wiped my brow and kept pushing through
C G Am F G C
I couldn't see how every sign pointed straight to you

[Chorus]

       F C G C
Every long lost dream lead me to where you are
            F Am F G
Others who broke my heart they were like northern stars
             F C G Am
Pointing me on my way into your loving arms
            F
This much I know is true..
      C G Am F G C
That God blessed the broken road that led me straight to you

[Instrumental]

C G Am F G C (x2)

[Verse 2]

  C G Am F G C
I think about the years I spent just passing through
     C G Am F G C
I'd like to have the time I lost and give it back to you
     Am G
But you just smile and take my hand
F C
You've been there you understand
C G Am F G C
It's all part of a grander plan that is coming true

[Chorus]

       F C G C
Every long lost dream lead me to where you are
            F Am F G
Others who broke my heart they were like northern stars
             F C G Am
Pointing me on my way into your loving arms
            F
This much I know is true..
      C G Am F G C
That God blessed the broken road that led me straight to you

[Solo]

(not sure about the chords here; I just play the Intro again)

F C G C F C G C

[Chorus]
                  F C G C
And now I'm just rolling home into my lover's arms
             F C
This much I know is true..
      C G Am F G C F G C
That God blessed the broken road that led me straight to you
      C F G C F G C
That God blessed the broken road that led me straight to you oooooooo
C G Am F G C (let ring)
Oooooooo ooooooo ooo

That's it...on the "oooo"s at the end is where Gary does some of his finest beautiful
vocal improvisation. I've hit his notes a few times and if you can hit them (Guys mostly)
they are really tons of fun to sing. Good luck with this and enjoy.

Rock On!
Chris

"Are you guys ready to Country N Roll!?!"
Jay Demarcus (He said that at the show I went to =D)

Hi Good start on this song but after listening to the record I think you have missed a few chords and also there are a few incorrect as well..I agree its a great song. For example in the first verse, But I got lost a time or two wiped my..... it is an Am to a G to an F "they were like northern stars" sounds better with a Dm7 C G ... take a closer listen to the record...there are more changes. Great first run... many are correct just need to fill them in ...for example "I set out on a narrow way" add an Am7 on "way" and also on "love"
