[Intro]
Gadd9/D
===
[VERSE ONE:]
D
Who's the boy you like the most?
Em7
Is he teasing you with underage?
Bm
Could he be waving from a tropical sunset?
D
Static silhouette somehow
Em7
Single in this bed someday
===
[Chorus]
Bm D
Quiet till it falls, falls, falls; Rome, Rome, Rome, Rome
A
Focus looking forward, the Colosseum
Bm7
Oh no, what did I say? What can I say?
G6 C#m7b5
Rome, Rome, many tears are falling here
D
I'll be driving; you'll look the other way
===
[VERSE TWO:]
D
That ain't easy to ignore
Em7
With your shutters open all the way
Bm D
When it's candlelight I see I go insane
Distant silhouette somehow
Em7
We shared a cigarette somewhere
===
[CHORUS TWO:]
Bm Gadd9
Addict till it falls, falls, falls; Rome, Rome, Rome, Rome
A
Focus looking forward, the Colosseum
Bm7
Oh no, what did I say? What can I say?
G6 A9
Rome, Rome, many tears are falling here
I'll be driving; you'll look the other way
===
[BREAK:]
| D | (x4)
| D | Em7 | Bm7 | (x4)
===
[VERSE THREE:] (no bass)
Gadd9
Always and forevermore
A9
I call to say I'm on the way
D Gadd9
Two thousand years remain in a trash can
Let burn the cigarette somewhere
A9/C#
Ashes till it fall, fall, falls
===
[BREAK TWO:]
--- NOTE ---
At this point in the song, the keyboard plays the chords, and the guitar just holds a D
note until the outro. The keyboard could be replaced by another guitar playing the
following chords:
| Gadd9 | "" | Em7 | "" | C#m7b5 | "" | Bm7 | A | (x2)
All together, these are the chords created:
| Gadd9 | "" | Em7 | "" | C#m7(B5,B9) | ""
| Bm7 Aadd11 | (x2)
---
===
[Bridge]
Gadd9 Em7 C#m7(B5,B9)
Bm7 A
I stand outside under broken leaves
Gadd9 Em7
C#m7(B5,B9) Bm7 Aadd11
I know I can't do without; the future's trying to wait
Gadd9 Em7
I never loved you; and if I loved you
C#m7(B5,B9) Bm7 Aadd11
I wouldn't say I'm sorry, oh no
Gadd9 Em7 Bm/F# F#/A#
I stand outside under broken leaves
===
[VERSE FOUR:]
Gadd9 A9
Always and forever more; We're together dead and lonely
Bm7 Gadd9
I thought I couldn't do this without you
A9
Single in this bed somewhere
Ashes till it fall, fall, falls
===
[Outro]
| D | Em7 | Bm7 |
End on D.
