I think it is in the key of A (or its relative minor F#m) going by the chords
and transposing the official song sheet which is played at capo@2 for effect
to play without the capo2 for the lead riff work equals;
 
G = A uncapoed
Dsus2 = Esus2 uncapoed
Em7 = F#m7 uncapoed
C2 = D2 uncapoed
 
Also the notes fit into/come from the A major pentatonic scale position 4.
There is a little distortion/overdrive and delay on the electric guitar sound I believe.
