On the original 1968 single the guitar is tuned
down a semi-tone, (still played in C, as in the tab)
but after de-tuning the song will then sound
in the Key of B.

De-tune all the strings down a semi-tone to...
D#-G#-C#-F#-A#-D#
Using a chromatic tuner may help accuracy
 
PLEASE NOTE:
In the later live versions by
Manfred Mann's Earth Band they play it in C,
(so no detuning required to play along with
that version) but the arrangement is quite
different to the original record.
 
Chords are named as if still in standard tuning:
C   = x35553    F/A = x03211    F = 133211
G/B = x20033    G   = 320033
 
Emphasise the bass note of each chord. Chords in
brackets are an option as accompaniment, they're
not actually played on the  recording and are only
