[Verse]
G Am C Am
O Bonny Portmore, I am sorry to see
G Am C G
Such a woeful destruction of your ornament tree
Am Em C Am
For it stood on your shore for many's the long day
Am G C D
Till the long boats from Antrim came to float it away
[Chorus]
G Am C Am
O Bonny Portmore, you shine where you stand
G Am C G
And the more I think on you, the more I think long
Am Em C Am
If I had you now, as I had once before
Am G C D
All the Lords in Old England would not purchase Portmore
[Verse]
G Am C G
All the birds in the forest they bitterly weep
G Am C G
Saying, "Where shall we shelter, where shall we sleep?"
Am Em C Am
For the oak and the ash, they are all cutten down
Am G C D
And the walls of Bonny Portmore are all down to the ground
[Chorus]
G Am C Am
O Bonny Portmore, you shine where you stand
G Am C G
And the more I think on you, the more I think long
Am Em C Am
If I had you now, as I had once before
Am G C D
All the Lords of Old England would not purchase Portmore

Thanks for this tab and the videos along with it. I been a bit obsessed with this song for a long time.
Now I just wish I could find a harmonica player doing this. Something about wanting to mix Delta Blues with Celtic Blues.

Jeez. I love this song. My hearts melting when im singing it. I can feel the tragedy in its expression. The loss of our beloved natural home, the demise of the wild woods, that got cut down to make place for early industrialism..
