[Verse 1]
C Fmaj7
Oh my love, you've been crying.
Cmaj9 C
Oh honey baby please?
C Fmaj7
We can work it out I,
Cmaj9 C
Can't survive unless you're next to me.

C Fmaj7
And all my life before I met you,
Cmaj9 C
When I was trying hard in love,
C Fmaj7
I thought the sun was going down,

But the sun was coming up.
[Verse 2]
C Fmaj7
And all those others that I stayed with,
Cmaj9 C
Their eyes are polished stone.

And all my devils I made deals with,
Cmaj9 C
So I wouldn't have to sleep alone.
[Chorus]
C Fmaj7

Diasappear when I am near to you
[Verse 4]

And from these poor words find the meaning,
Cmaj9 C
Far deeper than these clumsy lines.
[Chorus]
C Fmaj7
And all my life before I met you,
Cmaj9 C
When I was trying hard in love,
C Fmaj7
I thought the sun was going down,

Any thoughts on the picking pattern?

I wouldn't label 320010 as a Cmaj9 — that C is way up in the voicing, and in context it sounds like a suspension rather than the root of the chord. Given the picking pattern, I'd call it a Gadd4 (32001X).

i think the cmaj9 is an am7/g
