I saw George play a few times. One year my best friend won a pair of all expense paid tickets to the Laughlin Nevada bike run from Easy Rider magazine. I took it as a sign from Gawd. We hit the road. Georg was playin. After a long set of full tilt rock and roll, and John Lee Hooker blues, on Gibson single cut hollow bodies, He played this, drippin with sweat on a hot summer night.Last song before the half hour encore....he hit a cowboy e chord, with his amp cranked wide open, held his arms out with the guitar wailing in his left hand, feedback like Hendrix on a huge glob of DMT, and fell over on his face. At the last minute, the bass player ran up and grabbed the guitar out of his hand. When he hit the ground....he splashed. Seriously. I have seen it all. This was the best, highest energy set of solid rock and roll, I have ever seen. He layed it on the fricken line. It was truly over the top. God bless rock and roll. And thank you George.
