capo 3 not 2

Can someone please clarify for me the "Capo" notations we see in these tabs?
I do fully understand what a physical capo is and what it does, and I'm well versed in forming all manner of chords with various forms all over the guitar neck. The bit I'm not clear on is interpretation of the written notation in tabs.
If for example the chart says "capo-2nd fret", and later among the lyrics it indicates play "G" does this mean option X or Y as follows.
⦁ Option X: "G" means play the 'shape' of an open G chord above your capo, ultimately producing the notes and sound of what is really an "A".
,...or is it,...
⦁ Option Y: Adjust fingering to the shape of an open "F" chord, so when played above the capo the resulting sound is truly a "G".
