Nice! On keys, I'd do the verse progression as Am, Am/G#, Am7/G, Am/F#, Fmaj 7,... in other words, walk the bass note down in semitones.
Not sure if that works guitar-wise, but I think it's a touch closer to the original.

Great tabs. in the end of the verse where the chordprogression is G#, A# I end with Am(add9) in stead of a std Am. I play Am(add9) like this x,0,2,4,1,0 or x,0,5,5,0,0
