[Verse 1]
G C
Soft clouds all drift away
G C
Bright sunshine never stays
G C D
Warm afternoons turn rainy dark and cruel
G C
A candle's glowing light will die
G C
The purest voices often lie
G
And with love I've found that all the same
D
is true
[Chorus]
C D
Even though I should know better
G G/F# Em
I guess we could maybe try
C D G
There is the risk of looking like a fool
C D
Ah, But I've got a lucky feeling
G G/F# Em
Just a hunch, don't ask me why
C D
You might be an exception to the rule
[Verse 2]
G C
Sweet dreams can't be recalled
G C
High hopes can collapse and fall
G C
As the sky keeps turning sadder shades of
D
blue
G C
The strongest promise finally breaks
G C
And only leads to bigger aches
G C
Are lessons that I learned at sorrow's
D D7
school
[Chorus]
G C
Even though I should know better
G G/F# Em
I guess we could maybe try
C D G
There is the risk of looking like a fool
C D
Ah, but I've got a lucky feeling
G G/F# Em
Just a hunch, don't ask me why
C D
You might be an exception to the rule
[Chorus]
C D
Even though I should know better
G G/F# Em
I guess we could maybe try
C D G
There is the risk of looking like a fool
C D
Ah, but I've got a lucky feeling
G G/F# Em
Just a hunch, don't ask me why
C D
You might be an exception to the rule
Ending:
G C
Soft clouds all drift away
G C
And bright sunshine never stays
G D G
But you might be an exception to the rule

Love this song... One of Dwight's best in my humble opinion. Thanks for posting this, but it falls short of excellent in the following ways: It lacks the Intro, which sounds like those G & C chords in verse 1. Secondly, I believe the chords in the 1st line of each chorus are C, D, G, D, EM; just like you have them in the 2nd half of each chorus. Thirdly, Chords are needed for the bridge (with guitar solo) after the 2nd chorus. And lastly, that last line in the Outro doesn't sound quite right... Perhaps it's C, D, G or something like that. If you were to make these edits, I would be most pleased to provide a 5-star rating. Thanks again.
