The song is played with a lot of emphasized slides (in the form of "x (x)/y" compared to just "x/y", x and
y being two notes and "/" representing a slide) and finger vibrato. You might add vibrato whenever you want.
 
Effect wise:  The guitar is sparkly, but also very fuzzed and distorted.
I'm pretty sure a weird combination of an octaver and whammy pedal is somewhere in the mix too.
