Babylon (acoustic) – David Gray
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tabbed by: Rozy
Tuning: Drop d (EADGBd)
Capo 1st Fret
As I wish someone would have explained how to drop a string when I was starting out…
To do a drop d, tune the top e (1st string) down while holding the B (2nd string)
on the 3rd fret. When the two match, you're in business. If new to guitar, a perfect
practice song for hammer/pull picking and strumming. At the first rotation of chords per
verse, he strums the D2 and does a single little hammer/pull on the B string - 2h3p2.
It needs proper timing, or you can simply ignore and it sounds great regardless.

To show you how I really feel
Admit to some of those bad mistakes I've made

[Verse]
Sunday all the lights of London
Shining sky is fading red to blue
I'm kicking through the Autumn leaves
And wondering where it is you might be going to
Then I'm turning back for home
You know I'm feeling so alone, I can't believe
Climbing on the stair
I turn around to see you smiling there, In front of me
And well now…
[Chorus]
If you want it
Come and get it
Crying out loud
The love that I was
Giving you was
Never in doubt
Let go of your heart
Let go of your head
And feel it now
Let go of your heart
Let go of your head
And feel it now
Let go of your heart
Let go of your head
And feel it now
Let go of your heart
Let go of your head
And feel it now

Ditto. No need for dropped tuning. PLUS, IMHO, it's F#m7sus4 for one bar at the 'cryin out loud' bit - or to put it into tab; from E-e = 044200 (relative to Capo 1). The G for 'never in doubt' is correct. Its G2 (as its put above) is correct tab-wise, but it's called G6. The all important into and verse riff is:
e-------------0---0--------|-----------0----0----0-----|
B-------------2-3-2--------|-----------3----3----3-----|
G-------------2---2--------|-----------0----0----0-----|
D-----0--------------------|-------0-------------------|
A-----0--------------------|-------2-------------------|
E--------------------------|---3-----------------------|
the 3 on the b string in the first bar is achieved with a quick dab of the third finger or pinky, with a bit of pull-off. Practice and get the sound right.

Just my newbie opinion, but out of all the tabs, this one works for me. I kept it in standard tuning capo 1st fret tho. :-)

there is an F#minor in the chorus!
