Those Less Fortunate Than I Cifras

This song is not on UG and was performed/recorded by Darryl Worley, was written by Mark Nessler, who has written many songs for several Artists. In my personal opinion I feel this is one of his greatest. I am a Marine Corp Veteran, and I work closely every day with Veterans. Every day we have homeless Veterans coming into our facility seeking help because they can't cope with life after being in the Hell of War or the stress of Military Service. I hope you enjoy the song as much as I do. I did my best to chord it correctly. The song was recorded by Darryl Worley in the Key of B. I find it easier to use a Capo on the 4th fret and transpose it to play in the G chord progression. I had entered several "Walk-ups” noted, however, but the UG Formatting did not like it. These should be done with the 6th String “E” leading into the next Chord. Also, there is one walk-up near the end on the A string from B7 to the E chord. If you listen to the recording you should be able to hear it.Esta informação foi útil?

Verse One:
B
I don't have a lot, but I'm proud of what I've got
C#m F#
I can't complain
C#m F#
'Cause I see people hangin' round, on the city streets downtown
B
Living on pocket change
B7 B B7
There are times I've been confused, felt that I was born to lose
E
Oh, but I survived
F# G#m F#
Unlike the one's who pray and feel more than blessed each day
B F#
To just be still alive
[Chorus #1]
B
Is there something we can do
B7 E
Seems the odds against survival are a million to one
F# G#m
The only hope they have will die
F# G#m B F#
In the hearts of you and I if nothing's ever done
B
I can't save them by myself
B7 E
Oh but God forbid that I just turn my head
G#m C#m
And walk on by
B F# B A
Don't let me be a stranger to those less fortunate than I
Verse Two:
B C#m
Seems that old golden rule, that I learned back in school
F#
Has lost its shine
C#m F#
It's a crying shame, and I wonder could the blame
B
Be yours and mine
B7 B B7
Discipline was tough, and that old principal was rough
E
But the times were good
F# G#m F#
'Cause no one ever found one single child shot down
B F# E
In the neighborhood
[Chorus #2]
B
Is there something we can do
B7 E
Seems the odds against survival are a million to one
F# G#m
'Cause everyday that passes by
F# G#m
Another street gang victim dies
B F#
And still there's nothing done
B
I can't save them by myself
B7 E G#m C#m
Oh but God forbid that I just run away somewhere and hide
B F# G#m F# E
From the fear and the danger of those less fortunate than I
B F# B Em B A B
Lord don't let me be a stranger to those less fortunate than I
