[Verse 1]
C D
Step out the front door like a ghost into a fog
Em G
Where no one notices the contrast of white on white
C D
And in between the moon and you, the angels get a better view
Em G
Of the crumbling difference between wrong and right
C
And I walk in the air between the rain
D
Through myself and back again
Em G
Where? I don't know
C
And Maria says she's dying
D
Through the door, I hear her crying
Em G
Why? I don't know
[Chrous]
C D Em G
Round here, we always stand up straight
C D Em G
Round here, something radiates
[Verse 2]
C D
Maria came from Nashville with a suitcase in her hand
Em G
She said she'd like to meet a boy who looks like Elvis
C D
And she walks along the edge of where the ocean meets the land
Em G
Just like she's walking on a wire in the circus
C D
And she parks her car outside of my house and takes all her clothes off
Em G
And says she's close to understanding Jesus
C D
And she knows she's more than just a little misunderstood
Em G
She has trouble acting normal when she's nervous
[Chrous]
C D Em G
Round here, we're carving out our names
C D Em G
Round here, hey man we all look the same
C D
Round here we're, we're as cool we're as cool we're as cool as kittens
Em G
But out there...the dogs, they thrive
C D Em A D
Round here, we're running out of line
[Verse]
A C D A
Sleeping children better run like the wind out out out
C D A
Out of this lightning dream
C D A
Mama's little baby better get herself in
C D
Out of the lightning
[Bridge - Original "Round Here"]
C D Em G
She says, "It's only in my head"
C D Em G
She says, but I don't know well she shays that it's only in my head
C D
These things you're dreaming
Em G
They are only in your head
C D
These voices you hear sighing and lying and talking and singing and screaming
Em G
Are only in your head
[Bridge - "Doris Day" by "Sordid Humor"]
C D
There are jaguars in Mexico
Em G
But that's farther south than I will ever go
C D
And my life my head my heart my eyes are filled with squirrels
Em G
And one million beautiful girls
C D Em G
Hello my sweet orangutan
C D Em G
Well Doris Day is on TV again
C D Em G
And I apologize for everything
C D Em G
Hello hello hello hello my sweet orangutan
[Bridge - "Private Archipelago" by "Counting Crows"]
C D
She lives alone on her private archipelago
Em G
With the palm trees and her seashells
C D
She sits in the waves all day
Em G
She says she's scared of dying and she wants to keep it that way
C D
So she sends a boat out on the sea with a little note for me
Em G
It says why are all the girls so hungry
C D
Why are all the girls so hungry
Em G
And why are all the boys so lonely
C D
And why can't anybody see me
Em G C D
Why why why

C D
"Can't you see my walls just crumbling down?"
Em G
Yeah, well, I saw the moon stopped spinning around!
C D
And I watched the sky go blue black green grey brown!

Round here, hey man, I got a lot of time

I don’t mind mashups… without context… makes no sense. Maybe I missed something. I stopped trying when you jacked up the chorus after the second verse.
