G Cmaj7 G
G Cmaj7 G
[Verse]
G Cmaj7 G
What a thing to be the witness to the sunshine
GCmaj7 G
What a dream to just be walking on the ground
Em Bm C G
What a time to live among the ashen remnants of our love
GDG
That came before and I'm still looking for that now
GCmaj7 G
It took centuries to build these twisted cities
GCmaj7 G
It took seconds to reduce them down to dust
Em Bm
And all the tour guide could say was
C G
'Take your pictures folks it's late
GD G
And try your best please to remember what was done'
CG
Don't look so forlorn, don't you look so scared
CG
Don't get so upset, this world was never fair
D C
But there are hundreds of ways to get through the day
D CG Cmaj7 G
There are hundreds of ways, now you just find one
G Cmaj7 G
I used to think that time was of the essence
G Cmaj7G
Now I just wish I could get some sleep
EmBm CG
All the strange parade of sounds the city makes when I lie down
G D G
Little explosions that set fire to my dreams
G Cmaj7 G
Sometimes I get mistaken for this actor
GCmaj7 G
And I guess that I can see it from the side
EmBm CG
Maybe no one really seems to be the person that they mean to be
GD G
I hope I am forgotten when I die
CG
Don't contradict me, don't make me cross the line
C G
If you feel threatened, it's only 'cause I might
D C
But there are hundreds of ways to get through the day
D C
There are hundreds of ways to get through the day
D C G
Yes there are hundreds of ways so you best find one
D C
All my heroes, they're all talk
DC
Running in circles, some stopwatch some chaos
D C
Love was the message, for a start
Em Bm C
We ramble on and on
Em Bm CG
We ramble on and on (HEY!)
G Cmaj7 G
I stole all the rhinestones out of Carolina
GCmaj7 G
And sold them out in Bakersfield for cash
Em Bm C G
Now the bandshell got a band sound like an arcade in Japan
G DG
Blew all my quarters trying to get that feeling back
G Cmaj7G
Now any sucker can turn boredom into violence
G Cmaj7 G
A sociopath riding on a bus
Em Bm C G
And his irises are black from his novelty contacts
G D G
He looks around but he can’t see the rest of us
CG
In my sunglasses don't mind the blinding light
C G
It's getting dark broke, but I've always loved the night
D C
But there are hundreds of ways to get through the day
D C
There are hundreds of ways to get through the day
D C
There are hundreds of ways to get through the day
D C
There are hundreds of ways to get through the day
D C
There are hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of ways
D C G
To get through the day just find one

The lyric "Love was the message, for a start" should be "Love was the message, full stop." It's common to conversation to insert full stop as a means of communicating the end of the statement. It's used in dictation to indicate a period at the end of a sentence.
Terrific tab! Thank you so much.
+1

Great tab, very accurate to the song!! but please fix all the apostrophes. They turned into weird symbols
