To All the Lights in the Windows

Capo: 4th Fret

INTRO Em

Em
Moses up on the mountainside
D
What a place to meet
Em
He brought his pad and his pencil
          D
Poured himself some gypsum tea
Am D
All the world's multiplicity
           G Em
Turned his brain and his soul to stone
F Am
He drew his face on a tablet
F G
And carried it back home

Em
Jesus off in the water
D
Standing on his feet
Em
Yeah, that's the thing about charisma
         D
It makes everyone believe
Am D
That there is nothing impossible
              G Em
When I'm with you and when you're with me
F Am
I got a sad sinking feeling
F G
That that can never be

Am D
But I'm going to do what I can for you
G
I will make a plea
Am D
To all the lights in the windows
Em
The puddles in the streets
C D
And all the lovers that you've been teasing
G C
From your balcony
         Am D G
May they carry you far from my memory

Em
Solomon heard a protest
D
From the lower court
Em
Reached in his ear for a silver dollar
D
Just like he'd done before
Am D
He tossed it high said that wisdom's fickle
    G Em
And chance is God's retort
F Am
And handed down the sentence
       F G
It was death by Trojan horse

Em
Pharaoh woke from a bad dream
              D
Splashed some water on his face
Em
When it's a matter of nightmares you had
D
Better ask a slave
Am D
And he may tell you a famine's coming
G Em
Or he may look away
F Am
If he's kind then return it
F G
Let him lick your plate

Am D
But I'm going to do what I can for you
G
I will make a plea
Am D
To all the birds in the chimneys
Em
The whales up on the beach
C D
And all the footsteps that you've been hearing
G C
Like a timpani
         Am D G
May they carry you far from your enemies

BRIDGE Em, D, Em, D

Am D
But I'm going to do what I can for you
G
I will make a plea
Am D
To all the lights in the windows
Em
The puddles in the streets
C D
And all the hours that you've been sitting
G C
At your vanity
         Am D Em
May they carry you far from your misery
         Am D
May they carry you far

Em
Jesus off in the water
D
Standing on his feet
Em
Yeah, that's the thing about charisma
         D
It makes everyone believe
Am D
That there is nothing impossible
              G Em
When I'm with you and when you're with me
F Am
I got a sad sinking feeling
F Am
I got a sad sinking feeling
F Am G
I got a sad sinking feeling that will never be

Really just a tiny, minor correction, in the second verse the lyrics are "It makes everyone believe THAT there is nothing impossible", not "but there is...". Just a minor thing, but since the rest is near perfect, I thought you might just as well, do it all perfect ;) Otherwise thanks very much for the chords!

where he sings "The whales up on the beach" may be a B7. My teacher pointed out that it sounds like it wants to resovle the progression much more than the Em in the previous chorus, so it could be a B7 or an alternate change, but there is a variation there.
