Song: You're so vain (Single version)
Artist: Carly Simon
Composer: Carly Simon
Album: No secrets

Tabbed by DJ 2nd June 2013

IMPORTANT NOTE:
I've based this tab on the hit single version.
I've included a few extended chords which are
suggested by the full arrangement just to add more
interest on a single guitar, rather than the much
simpler guitar chords that Carly uses to play live.

Original album track in C:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cleCtBP0o5Y

In this video live version she has her guitar tuned
down a semi-tone, and which will then make the song
sound as if in the key of B.

Below are a couple of additional verses that Carly
never used on a record, but she did reveal them in
TV documentaries:

Took my time, and singing some sad songs,
C C4 C G G6 F F6
I had some dreams, they were clouds in my cof- fee,

Am7 Am Am7 Am
Kept it secret from your wives,

You be - lieved it was no crime,
    Fmaj7 G Em7 Am7

Best, most accurate version I've seen so far. Not many people pick up on the Dm7 in the chorus.

Diddy O way to go!! Really digging this! It’s going to take a little longer time and it’s going to be much more fun than the jukebox version. Thanks for taking the time and I will leave you the highest rating

Nice job, personally I got to work on some of these chord changes, been awhile since I've played 6ths & 13ths so it'll take a bit to get this down. Just strumming through it slow and it sounds like the real deal. Thanks. Definite 5 stars.
