Each chord in the main progression lasts for 4 beats, except for the Fmaj7 which gets cut
off by the "transition" riff/motif (whatever you want to call it).

In the intro (so prior to any vocals; in the verse he goes to the normal progression), Doug plays these chords
but barred, and with m7s mixed in. He also mainly arpeggiates them outside of the original strum of each
chord. It looks like this:

Unlike other slides in this song, the chords are strummed here after sliding down from Am7.

This progression lasts the whole verse. The first time it's played with lyrics, the chords are strummed
once on the downbeat while using the tremolo bar while they're ringing. The subsequent two repeats are
arpeggiated similarly to the intro, but with the normal, non-barre chords this time and the final repeat
is similar to the first, just without tremolo and quieter.

as long, so instead of one chord per measure, it's one chord per two measures (with exception to the Fmaj
halfway through that's repeated twice, making it 4).

tutorial by "Siddthekid" on YouTube seems to be accurate, but based on finger positions seen in this live
performance by Doug ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MCZU_hX-hMU ) it's only slightly wrong.

This is for the first repeat; the next 2 repeats follow the vocal melody which is very similar, so it's
not that difficult to figure out the differences.

[Bridge II]
 
There is a lot of stuff going on in this section that isn't very concrete. There's a slide guitar and a
"twinkly" reverbed & delayed guitar adding texture in the high end, so it's really up to interpretation
what to do here.
 
Also, although it's barely audible in the studio recording, Doug plays the main chords to this part of the
song during this section in live performances, so I'll put them here as well:

The Pre-Chorus and Chorus are essentially the same; the only difference is the layering of guitars, as the
Chorus has a louder guitar layered playing single downstrums on the downbeat of each chord change. To mark the
difference just change the intensity of strumming/acccents on the strumminng pattern (in the chorus it's an
even eigth-note feel, for example).
