[Verse 1]
D D/C# Bm A
Howard drives a minivan to the cruise ships from Ft. Lauderdale
         G A D
And it's been that way since 1994
         D D/C# Bm A
Does his business on a flip phone with the most obnoxious ringtone
         G A D
I didn't ask but I can tell he's from New York
             Bm D G D
And he spoke proudly of his daughter and that this fall she'd be in college
            Em A Bm
And that he always wished he'd gotten his degree
        Bm D G D
You can tell he came from nothing, built a future out of hustling
            Em A D
And somehow I'm the one you people pay to see

[Chorus]
G D
Oh isn't that just the way it goes
                    A Bm
You're dealt a good hand and you get celebrated
G D
Oh how am I the only one who knows
             Em A D
I'm half the man of the men that drive me places
 D D/C# Bm A G D

[Verse 2]
D D/C# Bm A
Danny showed up early fifteen minutes till five thirty
       G A D
Making sure that I'd be on my morning flight
             D D/C# Bm A
He said he'd love to fix computers, but that he can't until he's fluent
                    G A D
So he spends his driving money taking class at night
          Bm D G D
He wore a neatly ironed dress shirt and he helps his kids with homework
         Em A Bm
And deep inside I couldn't help but ask myself
            Bm D G D
Why that at night I'm up on stage, everybody knows my name
              Em A D
While Danny's early picking up somebody else

Oh how am I the only one who knows
             Em A D
I'm half the man of the men that drive me places
 D D/C# Bm A G D

[Bridge]
        Bm D G D
And now everything's not given, I work hard to make my living
              Em A Bm
But I'll give credit where I think credits due
      Bm D
Maybe you got dealt a good hand
      G D
Maybe you play it the best that you can
    Em Bm Em Bm
But I don't know how far you'd walk without those cards

In Howard or Danny's working shoes

For the most part you are correct, but for these parts of the song here are the actual chords: Bm D G D And he spoke proudly of his daughter and that this fall she'd be in college Em A Bm And that he always wished he'd gotten his degree Bm D G D You can tell he came from nothing, built a future out of hustling Em A D And somehow I'm the one you people pay to see Em A D I'm half the man of the men that drive me places Also, it's definitely not in 6/8.

Nathan is right about the last Bm in the chorus but other than that this tab is spot on! If you want to finger pick, pick the top string of each chord followed by two picks of the G and B strings in the pattern of... {top string} G+B {rest} G+B
