For my voice, transposing down 7 and using capo 2 (in other words transposing down 5) makes it singable with easy chording

If you watch Aimee playing this at the Newport Folk Festival (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Fe2lvDH0vA), you'll see that she does not play an A7 chord. Instead she's playing a Db minor 3rd/E instead (fingering the 4rth fret on the A string and the 2nd fret on the D string, and playing all other strings open). While an A7 will work, try playing this and I think you'll find it a very satisfying substitution. And of course, she's capoed on the second fret.

I saw Aimee playing this (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tZN-IV9yH7g). Looks like she had a capo on the 2nd fret.
