Capo IV
[Intro]
C / G / Am x2
[Verse]
C G
I spark a match and watch the candle burn
Am
The wick runs out and then love takes its turn
C G
On fallen angels and broken sounds
Am
We will last past the final round
C G
It took a while for you to find me
Am Em
But I was hiding in the lime tree
C G
Above the city in the rain cloud
Am Em
I poked a hole and watched it drain out
[Verse]
C G
Parallel to the city streets
Am
Our broken crowns beneath our feet
C G
But as we walk across the diamonds
Am
We know that love is always shining
C G
So save me love save me all the time
Am
I’ll wash you down with a simple sip of wine
C G
And toast my glass to all my loved ones
Am
To let them know that the stars well they still shine
[Chorus]
C G
It took a while for you to find me
Am Em
But I was hiding in the lime tree
C G
Above the city in the rain cloud
Am Em
I poked a hole and watched it drain out
(Repeat Chorus until the end)

In my opinion you just kept it way to simple, I think you missed nearly everything that makes this song so good.
Oh, and an Am doesn't even really fit in the verse.

Nah,I'm with Shiva...... it needs to go back to the G after the Am hey, and in the version I am listening to it's a Cadd9 (G shaped C), which is why he is playing the 3rd fret B string in the intro, that note is there the whole song. I have both the verse and chorus as C9/G/Am/G, and then the only "Jazzing up" you need to do is little pinky moves to give a fingerstyle sound to it in between chorus n verse

take it easy Shiva Shambo. he is right on with the chords, but the reason the Am doesn't sound like it fits is because it is followed up with an Em7. Shiva Shambo, maybe you overlooked the fact that there is a capo on 4.
