(verse)
G
Talk on the phone, stare at the screen,
G7
Doin' the job, livin' the dream,
C G
Gettin' paid, yeah right.
G
Thinkin' about what I'll say to prove
G7
That we should go out for a laugh or two
C G
'Stead of going home tonight.

(chorus)

From a long day, no break,
   G7
We made it to the middle of the week
        C
And I'm thinking that I'm probably gonna need
C
To get to know you casually.
            G
Just having fun, two for one,
              G7
Let's watch a good time get a little better.
         C
Ain't no ball and chain for the suits and skirts
                  G G7 C
Just drinks after work, drinks after work.
                        G G7
Tell me what's it gonna hurt,
                             C
To have a little drink after work?

(verse)
G
Happy hour's like a holiday,
F
Hanging with you's like getting away,
      C
Let's conversate
             G
For a little while.
G
Well, keep me company, catch me up
       G7
It's a whole lot better than being stuck
     C
In a drive-time 9 to 5
           G
I'd rather see you smile.

(chorus)
G

Hey Everybody! When I was listening to this song, I learned it with a D Minor as well. When I saw this tab and tried it with the G7, something didn't sound right. I also looked at the melody in this tab and it's got all of the notes that are found in the D Minor chord. If you improvise a C major scale over G-Dm-C it works and that also makes a strong case for a Dm chord Hope this helps.

The strumming pattern is a chunka-chunka like disco type of quick rhythmic strumming. Please check out the original recording. The Dm would be fine for your own arrangement, but the F is stronger. It is from the same perspective though, as if we are rearranging the song. I have discovered after listening carefully that it is a G7 in the original recording, and I have resubmitted.

I think the F is minor.. F major doesn't sound right to me.
