[Verse]

C G/B
Step one you say we need to talk
    Am G G/B C
He walks you say sit down it’s just a talk
             G/B Am
He smiles politely back at you
             G G/B C
You stare politely right on through
               G/B Am
Some sort of window to your right
             G G/B C
As he goes left and you stay right
              G/B Am
Between the lines of fear and blame
                   G G/B
And you begin to wonder why you came

[Chorus]

  F G Am
Where did I go wrong, I lost a friend
            C G
Somewhere along in the bitterness
    F G Am
And I would have stayed up with you all night
             C G
Had I known how to save a life

[Verse]

C G/B
Let him know that you know best
    Am G G/B C
Cause after all you do know best
             G/B Am
Try to slip past his defence
             G G/B C
Without granting innocence
               G/B Am
Lay down a list of what is wrong
             G G/B C
The things you’ve told him all along
                   G G/B
And pray to God he hears you

[Chorus]

  F G Am
Where did I go wrong, I lost a friend
            C G
Somewhere along in the bitterness
    F G Am
And I would have stayed up with you all night
             C G
Had I known how to save a life

[Verse]

C G/B
As he begins to raise his voice
    Am G G/B C
You lower yours and grant him one last choice
             G/B Am
Drive until you lose the road
             G G/B C
Or break with the ones you’ve followed
               G/B Am
He will do one of two things
             G G/B C
He will admit to everything
              G/B Am
Or he’ll say he’s just not the same
                   G G/B
And you’ll begin to wonder why you came

[Chorus]

  F G Am
Where did I go wrong, I lost a friend
            C G
Somewhere along in the bitterness
    F G Am
And I would have stayed up with you all night
             C G
Had I known how to save a life

hey you guys, not claiming it to be exactly as the cd, just how i found i liked playing it, found it hard singing with it that low..no need for nastys, its my interpretation, take it or leave it, alot say leave it, and thats cool. haha, i think the tab sounds right at the start, but i agree its a bit off from the original, thanks for being understanding critics you guys arre obviously flawless tabbers, so thankyou. hahahahaha..thanks for youre honest reviews though, maybe you should try tabbing your own version of the song the way you like it, have a nice day :) ps, also if you cant get sound out of your instrument..i dont think thats the tabs fault, but rather a sign that you need a little more practice..no?
