Verse 1:

               C C/B Am
You gonna look fine, be primed for dancing
             C C/B G
You're gonna trip and glide all on the trembling plane
             C C/B Am D
Your diamond hands will be stacked with roses
    C G C
And wind and cars and people of the past

Verse 2:

              C C/B Am
I'll call you thing, just when the moon sings
     C C/B G
And place your face in stone upon the hill of stars
                     C C/B Am D
And gripped in the arms of the changeless madman
      C G C
We'll dance our lives away in the ballrooms of Mars

Verse 3:

               C C/B Am
You talk about day, I'm talkin' 'bout night time
C C/B G
When the monsters call out the names of men
            C C/B Am D
Bob Dylan knows and I bet Alan Freed did
          C G C
There are things in night that are better not to behold

Verse 4:

      C C/B Am
You dance with your lizard leather boots on
C C/B G
And pull the strings that change the faces of men
                   C C/B Am D
You diamond browed hag you're a glitter-gaunt gangster
     C G C
John Lennon knows your name and I've seen his

"Rock!"

Bob Dylan knows and I bet Alan Freed did
          C G C

I concur t.delgado.abell - A , Ab. I saw Marc Bolan perform it, and he bars the A at the 2nd fret strings 234, then “cheats” it down a fret for the Ab muting the E string on both. The D7 he only used on the word Ballrooms. But for Ex; people of, and

The only obvious mistake is that the D should be D7. A super-easy chick magnet tune, even I can sing it passably. Thanks!
