Watching Steve play this,he is playing what I think is a d9 - the actual chord being Ex A5 D4 G5 B5 Ex. I suggest playing the top of the chord first then applying the bottom half. An ace post and an ace song, thanks.

Thanks for taking the time. Just a note - I think the A is actually an Em or even an Em7. And then for, 'just four worn... no way out' part he starts on an A chord and ascends with some finger magic ending on a D chord then back into a C chord that he walks down into a G chord.
