thanks for your work. From what I can tell on the internet, and given that this is a Steely Dan piece with a whole band that we're trying to replicate on an acoustic guitar, a workable series of chords for the 3rd line of the verse is

First section when you say it starts with a G, it doesn't.
It should be an Em up on the 7th fret with an Am shape (while the bass guitar plays a G chromatically down to E).
Next chord: B on the 7th, then Dm on the 5th fret, and lastly A on the fifth fret.
You can put the G, F#, F and E in the base of the chord if you want to.
