I'm not seeing why it needs to be in drop-D tuning since you recommend a higher voicing of the D chord. I dropped it anyways and played through the song doing low D and F chords and it sounds great. You should incorporate that into your tab for a fuller sound!

I'm pretty sure the D chord as written here should be a D-minor. Otherwise the chords work well for me on piano.
