[Verse]
D
He's got a smile that it seems to me
  Cadd9
Reminds me of childhood memories
      G D
Where everything was as fresh as a bright blue sky

Now and then when I see his face
   Cadd9
He takes me away to that special place
    G D
And if I stared too long I'd probably break down and cry

[Chorus]
Am Cadd9 D
Whoa oh, Sweet child of mine
Am F C/E D

He's got eyes of the bluest skies
   Cadd9
As if they thought of rain
  G D
I hate to look into those eyes and see an ounce of pain
D
His hair reminds me of a warm safe place
       Cadd9
Where as a child I'd hide
    G
And pray for the thunder and the rain
   D
To quietly pass me by

Whoa oh, Sweet child of mine

I think the "Sheryl Crow / GNR" comment was there to point something out to those of you who weren't already aware: Sheryl Crow did a horrible cover version of Sweet Child for the soundtrack to the Adam Sandler film "Big Daddy". Whoever posted this chose to put in the Sheryl Crow version of the lyrics, so there's not much sense in banging on about people being "queer" for putting "he" instead of "she" etc. There are already loads of versions of this on here, some of which are pretty accurate. This, I guess, was merely posted to allow less competent guitarists to play the track for their own amusement. As regards the C9/Cmajor argument, even on the GNR version, the acoustic guitar heard on the recording (only really audible during the intro) plays C9 (or Cadd2 - similar/same thing). I have no idea what warbdaniel is getting at with that intro riff. Not only is it upside down but it's wrong. The guy is obviously on crack. There are mistakes in the chords for the chorus (should be A, C, D) and there is a missing chord in the end part (should be Em, G, A, C, D, G). Also, the guy admits that he found it on the net, so he was only trying to be helpful to users of this site. Also, wangmaster covered something that he described as "a queer cover of a gay song... but not as bent as i thought it would be". The only way he could be more obviously gay is if he had some guy's c#ck in his @ss. Still, these things make me laugh! :)

A woman covered the song. So SHE is gonna change it from she to he. Common sense. Yes its not the right song but its a woman covering the song.
