the tuning is right

Nice work! It's essentially right. I think your tuning is a half step too high though. I played it drop C, with every other note down a full half step, like the old SOAD tuning. That is the tuning that matches your tabs. I was playing along with the recording and the fourth time of the interlude I think it becomes really quiet and goes up an octave.
