[Verse 1]
A D A
She was in the backyard say it was a little past nine,
D E A
When her prince pulled up, a white pickup truck.
A D A
Her folks should've seen it coming it was only just a matter of time.
[Refrain]

Plenty old e-nough, and you can't stop love.

She stuck a note on the screen door, sorry but I got to go,

[Refrain]
D E A
And that was all she wrote, so the story goes...
[Chorus]
F#m
Now her daddy's in the kitchen,
E D A
Starin' out the window, scratchin' and rackin' his brains:
F#m E D
"How could eighteen years just up and walk a-way?"
F#m E
Our little pony-tailed girl, growed up to be a woman,
D A
Now she's gone in the blink of an eye.

She left the suds in the bucket,
E A - E - A
And the clothes hangin out on the line,
[Verse 3]
A D A
Now don't you wonder what the preacher's gonna preach about Sunday morn?,
D E A
Nothin' quite like this, has happened here be-fore.
D A
Well he must've been a looker, a smooth-talkin' son-of-a-gun,
D E A
For such a grounded girl, to just up and run.
[Refrain]
D E A
'Course you can't fence time, and you can't stop love.
[Chorus]
F#m
Now all the bitties in the beauty shop,
E D A
Gossip going non-stop, sippin' on pink lemon-ade:
F#m E D
"How could eighteen years just up and walk a-way?"
F#m E
Our little pony-tailed girl, growed up to be a woman,
D A
Now she's gone in the blink of an eye.

She left the suds in the bucket,
E A
And the clothes hangin' out on the line, ye-hoo!
[Interlude]

[Chorus]
F#m
She's got her pretty little bare feet,
E D A
Hangin' out the window and their headed up to Vegas to-night:
F#m E D
"How could eighteen years just up and walk a-way?"
F#m E
Our little pony-tailed girl, growed up to be a woman,
D A
Now she's gone in the blink of an eye.

Yo if you have probs with the F#m, then just transpose it up +3. You'll be fine there if you can play like C,F,Am,and D if you're planning on playing the solo. That's what I did. :)

If you play "x333xx" - where the "E" is in this song, it sounds REALLY close. There's DEFINITELY something in between, where the E is labeled. a "chord finder website" says it's something like an "Fsus6"?? I'm a super beginner so I'm not sure what this is. Just move an A chord up to the A,D, and G strings and it sounds great.

Lyrics are wrong. It says "Guess I'm going non-stop" when it should be "Gossip going non-stop".
