**Note from transcriber: Obviously, there are several issues with this tab
(see comments for this tab). I'd remove it altogether so as not to waste
peoples' time with it, but I know that UG doesn't allow people to remove
tabs. However, I'd strongly suggest people NOT use the tab, as there's
very little about it that's right. Instead, have a look at this live video
of the song -- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hGoyVPZieUs -- which gives
you a good look at correct fretboard positioning. - A.D. (Nov./09)

I see no harm or danger in escaping

I'll be standing here beside myself
Getting ready for the final round

How to play

Hey, dvrapant, thanks for your added suggestions. Usually when I have any question about fretboard positioning, I'll generally try to find a live version of the song on YouTube to see if I can get a look at where on the fretboard the guitarist is playing the part. This tab goes back a ways for me, though, so I probably hadn't started doing that yet when I did this one. I tried different fingerings for this part, I remember that. And I agree with you that for the staccato part, the most natural way to play it seems to be between the 3rd and 6th fret. But there was a problem I ran into doing it that way. At the end of that phrase, you have to bend a Bb (G string, 3rd fret) up to a C. In that fretboard position, it's your index finger that falls on that note. And (on my guitar, anyhow) that's a bit of a tough bend for the index finger. So I reworked it so that a stronger finger (middle or ring) would fall on that note and do that bend. I didn't really like that fingering as much, but I did it that way to facilitate that bend.
I just changed computers and actually don't have sound right now, but once I do, maybe I should check YouTube for live versions to see what fretboard postion Ian Crichton uses for that part. The tab gets plenty of views both here and on my own site, so it might be worth re-visiting to see if alterations are needed. :-)
+1

The intro is wrong and a few other problems here and there not too bad overall as this is a sought after tab.I was just starting to tab this song and decided to see if someone has done it yet.

This is a great song!! The notes seem to be right, but I play the stacatto sequence d# note starting on the A string 6th fret. You can figure the rest out from there using the same notes from this tab. It seems more likely that it's played there as it's a lot easier to access coming off of the little chromatic lick, which is also easier to play starting on the D string 7th fret. It just flows better and is also closer to the little scale run starting on the high E 13th fret. I hope this helps you pull it off better as this is really a quick moving song. Peace, and thank-you zerofret :)
