The timing is extremely awkward with the song written in 4/4. It's a little more complex than you let on, and although it can be resolved into 4/4, it's much easier to understand if it's written out into the proper time signatures. Also, some of the chords, while on the right track, seem very weird, although I'm not playing along with the track.
