I find this song not only to sound better but also play easier using drop D and playing: (bottom three strings) D||-----------12--------------------------12---------------- A||-------10------------10----------10----------10---------- D||--10-----10-----10---------10-------10----10----10------- And then sliding that same figure to start on the 7th fret of the low D string. You're totally correct but I think this way gives a tone closer to what Mogwai did on the album. Cheers!
