[Verse 1]
        G G7
Life is like a mountain railway
        C G
With an engineer that's brave
        G
We must make this run successful
         A7 D D7
From the cradle to the grave
         G G7
Heed the curves and watch the tunnels
      C G
Never falter, never fail
          G
Keep your hand upon the throttle
         D7 G
And your eye upon the rail

[Chorus]
        C G
Blessed savior there to guide us
                            D7
Till we reach that blissful shore
        G C
And the angels there to join us
         G D7 G
In God's grace for evermore

[Verse 2]
       G G7
As you roll across the trestle
         C G
Spanning Jordan's swelling tide
         G
You will reach the union depot
     A7 D D7
Into which the train will ride
             G G7
There you'll meet the superintendent
        C G
God the father, God the son
       G
With a hand of joyous greeting
      D7 G
Weary pilgrim, welcome home

[Chorus]
        C G
Blessed savior there to guide us
                            D7
Till we reach that blissful shore
        G C
And the angels there to join us
         G D7 G
In God's grace for evermore

I only ever heard this song done by Linda Ronstadt, from the album Silk Purse. this is in the same league with John Hartford's Turn Your Radio On and Train of Glory by Jonathan Edwards. Thank you for posting this!
