If you guys want to do the same sound but then for the lead guitar try using power chords.
For the D and A part use a A5 chords, for the part played on the G and D strings use a D5 chord and for the part played on the A and E string use a E5 chords.
Where you play them, try it yourself.
Find out what you like the most.
