[Verse 1]
D G D
When I survey the wondrous cross
D A Bm G A
On which the Prince of glory died,
D G Bm G
My richest gain I count but loss,
D Em A7 D
And pour contempt on all my pride.
[Verse 2]
D G D
Forbid it, Lord, that I should boast,
D A Bm G A
Save in the death of Christ, my God!
D G Bm G
All the vain things that charm me most,
D Bm A7 D
I sacrifice them to His blood.
[Verse 3]
D G D
See from his head, His hands, His feet,
D A Bm G A
Sorrow and love flow mingled down.
D G Bm G
Did e’er such love and sorrow meet,
D Em A7 D
Or thorns compose so rich a crown.
[Verse 4]
D G D
Were the whole realm of nature mine,
D A Bm G A
That were an off’ring far too small.
D G Bm G
Love so amazing so divine,
D Em A7 D
Demands my soul, my life, my all.
[Verse 5]
D G D
Were the whole realm of nature mine,
D A Bm G A
That were a present far too small;
D G Bm
Love so amazing, so divine,
D Em A7 D
Demands my soul, my life, my all.
D G Bm
Love so amazing, so divine,
D Em A7 D
Demands my soul, my life, my all.

No, the first D. Well, it works for me.

On the second line, I think it should be D G D Bm, not D G D A. It just sounds better (to me).

I think the last line of each stanza, the Bm should be replaced with an Em
