it really gives the song that slinky, western-y, dark feel. Experiment with

I found that it sounded a bit better with some additional muting. Here's how I play it:

I feel like getting rid of doubled notes gives it a much grittier feel closer to the original. I also think that the 3rd string on the second chord should be a fret lower as you see above. Granted it could just be my ear that's off :).
